The Hixson PTO would like to
welcome back the Class of 2019 and welcome in the Class of 2020 to Hixson
Middle School! We would also like to
send a big welcome to our new Principal, Dr. Stacie Smith, and wish her a
wonderful first year with all our kiddos!!
We have a very active PTO at Hixson and are proud of the work we do to
help support our Students, Teachers, and Principal.
The PTO always starts the year with
several events scheduled. As you can
imagine, none of these events happen without a lot of volunteer effort. Even if your time is limited, every little
bit counts and is much appreciated. The
money we raise as a PTO goes directly to fund the various field trips during
the school year, counselors and nurse needs, and teacher appreciation. We also
want to help fund Rachel’s Challenge and new technology.
One big change this year is to
forego the wrapping paper/baked good sales that the kids usually do in the
fall. Instead, we have decided to ask
you to donate directly to PTO (take out the middle man and the expensive
wrapping paper that we all had to buy)!
We are asking the parents of kids from the Class of 2019 (8th
graders) to donate $20.19 and the Class of 2020 (7th graders) to
donate $20.20. Easy and no organizing or
carting wrapping paper or frozen desserts around to the neighbors! If you are able and willing, you can do this right
now by clicking on the appropriate donate tabs on the right side of this
screen. You can also donate by check or
credit card at the PTO table during Orientation or even send a check into the
office after school starts.
Our biggest and most visible fundraiser
of the year is the Hixson Holiday House Tour.
This is a long standing Holiday tradition in Webster Groves and is a lot
of fun but we need over 100 volunteers for this event so please consider
volunteering a little of your time. It’s
fun and it’s festive!
Also new this year will be a
Parent’s Night Out fundraiser. There
will be more information coming but it will be this Fall so keep your eyes open
and plan on a fun night out!
